STORAGE OF REINETTE SYMYRENKO APPLES WITH POST-HARVEST TREATMENT OF ETHYLENE INHIBITOR AND SHELF-LIFE

The research results o f the changes o f marketable product quality and natural losses during common cold storage and a shelf life period o f 7 days at 20°C (cv. Reinette Symyrenko) under post-harvest treatment with 1-methylcyclopropene (1-MCP) were presented in the paper. It was found out that in favorable years for the formation o f fruit quality postharvest treatment o f apples (cv. Reinette Symyrenko) with 1-MCP increased marketable products output by 14,8-86,6% with the advantage o f higher commodity grade and reduced a natural loss.Postharvest treatment ensures lack o f surface skin browning, lack or 3.7 times lower losses from overripeness, 4.5 - from flesh browning, and with a tendency to reduce losses o f fruit rot.
